She became my mother in a most unconventional way. My mother started off as the director of the daycare I went to. I was a feisty, short tempered child with a tendency to end up in the director’s office, in time out. Somehow, I won her heart…then my father did. Long story short, she became the mother any child would dream to have. Though we didn’t share the same blood, her love for me created a bond that biology couldn’t.

On this Mother’s Day, as I look through the images of my mom with my children, I cannot feel anything but joy that I’ve had this amazing person by my side through these 33, almost 34 years. And the thing that makes me feel so special, she chose me to love and raise as her own.

Kate’s camping themed 5th birthday party was adorable, complete with pink tents, lots of smores, crafts and an adorable cake to tie it all together.

Kate was such a sweet little girl to photograph, complete with her mother’s smile and that her first missing tooth! Her family and friends showered her with love and I feel so privileged to be a part of her beautiful day. Thank you to Keith and Stefanie for allowing me to be there and for the cake and smores….both of which were so delicious!!!!
